Lake Tahoe Trip

Emily, my boyfriend, and I once again set out for a road trip last Wednesday but this time we took her Volvo. Our destination? North Lake Tahoe. We got a house we were sharing with some of our Wasatch Project friends, but didn't know exactly where it was (the coach got the house, not us), so we were going to meet them in Salt Lake City. I love the Wasatch Project kids, I rode with some of their girls at Nikita Chickita, and one of them is a good friend of mine.

Once again like our last trip to SLC, it was a very easy drive although we did leave kind of late. We left at like 3pm, and didn't get to Salt Lake City until 2am. Emily missed a turn, so we ended up taking longer than we thought. We were supposed to turn onto 6 from 70 that goes through Price, UT. Emily thought we were supposed to take 70 to 15, and I didn't even realize we missed 6 until she asked me to drive and I saw I didn't recognize anything. I was like, "Uhhhh... I just drove to SLC last week, what the hell is this town? Either I was WAY out of it and don't remember, or we missed our turn..." We stopped at a gas station and checked a map (we're old school). We were pretty much in between 6 and 15, and 15 was waaaaaaaaay the heck over there. We found a small road that was in the other direction but only one exit away that would take us to 15, so we decided on that road. 70 east to 50 to 15! It worked and we got to SLC and checked in for the night. Yeah, I was TIRED.

Woke up Thursday morning, ate some free breakfast, and hit the road again. We met up with the Wasatch Project kids and started heading towards Lake Tahoe together. Holy crap, they had so much stuff on top of their Expedition.

It was also an easy drive with some occasional rain and some snow in Nevada. The snow wasn't bad at all, you could see the road, and the only snow was in between the tires and on the outside. Barely an inch, but yet, we passed 2 cars who managed to slide off the highway?? What?? It was seriously barely any snow... I guess Nevada drivers are pretty bad in the snow. It was only snowy for maybe half a mile, then it was clear after that.

How did Dustin get up there? Somewhere in Utah or Nevada.

We all eventually made it to Reno, where we stopped for some yummy yummy yummy In-N-Out... YEAH!!!!!!! It was so good I got another cheeseburger.. haha. I'm a fat kid at heart. Dustin and the Wasatch Project kids left to get to the house, and Emily, my boyfriend, and I stayed in Reno because we had a friend flying in, and we were gonna pick him up. We just hung out, went to a mall, and then went to downtown Reno to do a little gambling.

We drank some drinks, won some money, and then went to the airport to wait for our buddy. He finally landed and we scooped him up and finally went to the house. Our first competition didn't start until Saturday, so we planned to just ride around on Friday and have fun; then TransAM Saturday, and thennnn Billabong Flaunt It on Sunday! I freaking passed out as soon as I got in my room. The house was nice by the way, but the damn bathroom door didn't close!! It shut, yes, but it didn't shut all the way... you could still push the door open. That's super scary for me because I can't hear if someone knocks on the door (if I don't have my hearing aid on, that is), so someone would surely walk in on me while I pee. Fortunately everyone else noticed that too, so someone made a sign saying, "Occupied, DO NOT OPEN!" and taped it on the door. WHEWWWWWWWW. It definitely helped.
