2011 Technine Glam Rocker 144

After trying out the GNU B-Street, I wanted to try a different pair of Technine bindings and I decided to try a Technine board in addition to the bindings. I grabbed the Glam Rocker 144 with Technine Element bindings; I was told that they were more responsive than the Technine Dime bindings I tried prior.

Mountain: Brecken-RAGE!
Weather: Sunny and WARM
Snow: Slushy

Bindings: 2011 Technine Element
Boots: 32 Lashed size 7

After trying the Technine Dime bindings, I was excited to try a more responsive binding from the same company. The ankle strap felt cushy, so I figured that they would also be comfortable.

BUTTER IT!
The board is easy to butter right out of the demo tent, but not as soft as the GNU B-Street, that board was just ridiculously soft.

SWITCH IT UP!

Board rode the same switch as it did regular

POP IT!
This board also had plenty of pop, but it felt like I really had to load it to get it to POP! Does that make sense?

BOMB IT!
The board was a little squirrely when going fast in a straight line, but it held an edge fine when turning. While it did feel squirrely, it didn't feel like it was going to wash out from under me which was good.

SPIN TO WIN!
This board and binding package were both lightweight so it made it easy for me to spin. I did little 180s and 3s, and it also spun around on the boxes just fine.

ARTSY-FARTSY!
This board is deserving of the name "Glam Rocker", it does look totally '80s and glam rock style! It's bright and I love it!

AND THE BINDINGS?
The Technine guy wasn't kidding, they were definitely more responsive! I really liked these bindings, no problems whatsover with them, and I would definitely pick them over the Dime. I didn't have to crank them down as much as I did with the Dime. The Dime would be perfect for a beginner or someone who rides around and is just getting started in the park, or does all park. The Element would be more for someone who likes to turn fast, carve, ride around the mountain in addition to the park.

THE VERDICT?!
While the Glam Rocker was a good board and held its own on the mountain and in the park, it's just not a board for me. I just wasn't feeling it, but it definitely excelled in the park. I like a board that can do everything so I don't have to switch decks around, but this board would be great for someone who does straight up park all day long. I did like the bindings a lot, I thought I would never find bindings besides Rome that I really liked.

Disclaimer - Board was demoed and returned
