Loveland

Yesterday was the start of the demos at Loveland, and I was able to attend and try out some boards and bindings. I rode a handful, and they were:
  • Nitro Runaway 146 (no gullwing) with Raiden Eris bindings
  • Ride Fever 144 with Ride Bandita bindings
  • Roxy Ollie Pop BTX 148 with K2 Auto Agogo bindings
  • K2 VaVaVoom 139 with Salomon Stella bindings
  • Salomon Gypsy 143 with K2 Virtue bindings
  • K2 Fling 146 with Salomon Absolute bindings
  • Forum Spinster Chillydog 144 with Forum Journal bindings
The only boards that really stood out to me and made me go, "OH MY GOD I LOVE THIS BOARD!!!" were the Roxy Ollie Pop and Forum Spinster.

Roxy Ollie Pop

Forum Spinster Chillydog

The Forum Spinster really blew me away. I had never ridden a Forum and wasn't expecting it to be so good, especially considering that I never heard anything about Forum's women boards. The bindings were also the most comfortable bindings I rode all day, the Forum Journal:

Forum's website says this about their Spinster Chillydog:
A little bit of Chillydog, a little bit of fun—this ride mixes all the ingredients for park domination. Stable, flowy, and predictable with Chillydog’s Continuous Rocker, this stick will stick landings and push for one more rotation. Confidence to keep going without fear of that revert hang-up or the dreaded rail:edge mix-up. Take this new spin for a spin and then add some new tricks to your arsenal.
Spot on!! This board was indeed stable and flowy, especially at higher speeds. The rocker is very mellow and doesn't feel squirrely or unnatural. I went to spin on the fat box they had set up at Loveland, and it surprised me how fast it spun on it without feeling like it was catching or slowing down. This board was also so damn fun going off the little bumps and spinning off them. This board will definitely increase a girl's confidence in the park and make it super fun for a seasoned pro. This board also has plenty of pop, which is always excellent.

Let's get artsy-fartsy, I love the graphics! Very Peter Max-esque. I'd definitely hang this board up on my wall once I'm done with it.

The Roxy Ollie Pop was also a super fun board... it was pretty similar to my Gnu B-Street, but there is a slight difference. I can't put my finger on it, but it just might be a tad more fun than the B-Street.... shhhh don't tell my B-Street I said that. Another plus is that the Ollie Pop is cheaper than the B-Street at $400. The B-Street sells for $469. I would definitely ride this board everywhere, I just wished that the one I was demoing was a 145, not a 148! I still felt confident enough to roll through the park on a bigger board, and it took me through with ease. Popping 180s and 3s were also no problem... like the name of the board, it does have POP for those OLLIEs... OH YEAH!

I will write details about the other boards throughout the week, so stay tuned!
