Ashley Fiolek X Games 16

When Ashley told me she was going to be in the X Games this year, I was excited and told her I would watch on TV. I was hoping that our sponsor would fly me out to go watch her in person, but alas, that didn't happen. Sad panda. Instead, I had friends come over to grill kabobs and watch the X Games, and I was so excited for Ashley's race to start.

When the races started, Ashley had a 2nd place start; another girl got the holeshot, not sure what her name was, sorry! Ashley wasted no time in the first lap and quickly passed the leader and took off. She had a really good lead, and my friends and I were cheering for her. Her main rival Jessica Patterson started catching up, and we were like, "Uh oh!!" but luckily she went too wide in a turn and gave Ashley a good second or two advantage. It was pretty tense and then Jessica crashed! It looked pretty gnarly, I hope she's OK. (Sidenote: JP was back on her feet when the race was over) Ashley had a HUGE lead by that point, and she rode away comfortably to a first place finish and her second X Games gold medal!! Yeah, Ashley! Back-to-back gold medal, that's pretty amazing!!

Right after her win, she commented that "Christmas came early!" It was such an amazing race to watch, I so wish I could had been there in person. Hmmmm, you guys think she will win a 3rd X Games gold medal next year?!?! Let's hope for that!!
