I came for the Winter...

...but I stayed for the summer.  Tomorrow is March.  Before I know it, it will be April.... then May..... my snowboarding days are numbered.  It looks like my season might end a little earlier than everyone else because my ma gave me an amazing, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to go to Europe with her!!  I just found out two nights ago, it seriously was last minute. We Skyped and she basically said, "Hey, wanna come to Europe with me?  I need to know now, or tomorrow morning."
I freaked out, because I was supposed to have a friend come live with Sasha, my friend and roommate, and I for the month of May before he went to Aspen for work.  I told ma I had to talk to Sasha and my friend, and I was stoked to see that my friend was totally cool with it and would push his arrival date further.  This Europe trip consists of my ma and I leaving Florida on a cruise, sailing to the Azores Islands, then we will go to Dublin, Ireland, then Cobh, Ireland.  After that, we will go to Normandy Beach, France, continue to Paris from there; then finally end our journey in London!  We will fly back home after London.  WOW WOW WOW.  I AM EXCITED.  I can't believe this is really happening, I have always wanted to go to Europe!!

I'm hoping that A-Basin will still be open when I get back.... I'd love to sneak in some summer laps, grill at the beach, drink tasty cold beers.... perhaps a bacon bloody mary or two.  But you know what, A-Basin will always be there.  Europe trips won't be.  Even if they close when I get back, that's all right.  Summers are AMAZING out here!

I was hoping to get this Arts and Crafts summer job at the Aspen Camp for the Deaf for their summer camp, but unfortunately I got wait-listed and they had already offered positions to other people.  I'm not too bummed though; it's still fun out here.  It's going to be my first summer out here single, what that means is I can do WHATEVER I WANT.  If I want to grab a beer with my best friend, I can just go out and do it.  I don't have to ask anyone if I can go, and I don't have to worry about if someone will just come and grab me from the bar and make me go home.  It has actually happened, my god, I was so embarrassed.

I'm probably going to work at the coffee shop again and slang delicious drinks and ice cream (if I'm not eating it).  I definitely plan on riding my bicycle a lot (it's a Bianchi Milano, it's fucking sweet), going hiking, fishing, skating, and all sorts of fun shit.  I especially enjoy the slow-pace life out here; last summer sucked in California so I'm a little more excited than I should be about the impending end of the season.  I also want to make my way to Rochester, New York at some point.... why not?  Check out the place, see some friends, go camping.  I've never gone camping, ever.  Seriously.  It's about time I did that.  Maybe go out there in mid-June.  Little birthday present to myself.

I'm almost done with my coffee, then I'm gonna go snowboard with my bestie Ali!  Catch ya later
