The Days Are Long and the Years Are Fast

Today is February 28th. Two more days until March. Shit.

I am STILL in school. Only taking a few classes though. I ended up dropping my College Algebra class, it was too overwhelming for me. I haven't taken any math classes in 10 years and I was crying at home. I don't need that in my life, so I gave that class the boot. It's chill though, I'll do Khan Academy and get back into it and try again in the Fall. I'll have more time to commit too.

I have an upcoming rock climbing class March 14th through the 16th. It's in MOAB! Yes, this class applies to my degree... how awesome is that? I'm pretty freaking pumped, I ordered a bunch of camping shit including a Goal Zero solar panel. I hope it comes in time.

I also deactivated my Facebook. It's weird, I suddenly feel like I have nothing to do, so I try to find something to do, haha. I never realized how into it I was, damn. That's why I'm typing on my blog again, something to do and I can keep track of my life.

Gypsy is still a wonderful little pup. The trainer comes in town in March and I'm excited. It's been a while since the trainer was here and we need to fine-tune some things. For example, Gypsy can alert me when someone yells my name, but she doesn't indicate where it's coming from. No worries, the trainer will get this shit.

Cobie is still a wonderful man. He is so kind, hard-working, smart, interesting, funny. and kills it at snowboarding/skateboarding... Cobie, what a guy! I'm a pretty lucky girl to have him and hope he remains in my life forever.

I volunteered at the Aspen Winter Camp again this year and boy, I gotta say, that was probably my last time there. Although I love getting the kids stoked on snowboarding, and going snowboarding at Snowmass, I felt like it was way more work this time around. I felt like what I did should have been a paid position... it was literally work from as soon as you wake up, until the kids went to bed at 10pm. I also worked in the kitchen so I had to be up balls early. We had no opportunity to de-stress (there was a "staff lounge" if we needed a break, but none of us used it because we were always working) and kids are ASSHOLES!!!

It is horrible! Aspen Camp is the only opportunity where I can be around kids and understand what they're saying... they all friggin' suck! Well, there were only 3 kids that were nice and had manners, but Jesus CHRIST! There was one girl that was really nice when I got her away from the other kids for some one-on-one snowboarding, but when she was back with the kids, she was an asshole again. Kids are demanding too, no "please" or "thank you"... this little shit demanded I scoop him more food for dinner, "More." *he points at the food* I asked him, "What's the magic word?" I was looking for "please" and I shit you not, he thought really hard about it and looked confused.... looked at the food.... "Potatoes?" OH MY GOD. This same little shit, the next dinner, he looked at the food and turned up his nose at it in a total asshole way, like "UGH, GROSS, this is SHIT." I was shocked again at the rudeness... I know the cooks work hard and they don't deserve that. I scolded him, "You say 'no, thank you', don't do that (copies his turning up his nose)... that is rude. The cooks work hard all day in a hot kitchen to make this and how do you think that will make them feel if they saw that?" He quickly said, "No thank you" and scurried away so fast... haha. I don't think it sunk in him though.

Kids need to see this.
A fellow volunteer also from Breckenridge confessed to me that she had volunteered at 10 other places before and the Camp was the worst volunteer experience.... oh goodness! She said the same reasons, a LOT of work and asshole kids.

Funny though... I FORGOT MY SNOWPANTS WHEN I GOT TO ASPEN. OH MY GOD, LAUREN. WHYYYYYYYYYYY? Shout out to Katie & Michelle for letting me borrow your snowpants! Thanks gals!

Cobie convinced me to buy a Capita snowboard. Oh my god, I love it. I got the Birds of a Feather in 140 and that thing is so fun on rails. It locks on so nice. I love how it rides around the mountain too, the carves feel so much better. I ALSO CAN ACTUALLY GO FAST! I'm sick of Roxy giving me shitty demo snowboards with shitty bases that are sticky and get me stuck all over the mountain... they gave me snowboards with shitty bases for the Deaflympics in Russia and that was really frustrating. I struggled with speed for the last jump in Slopstyle and it cost me my gold medal in Boardercross (I won silver). Soooo, I guess I'm done riding Roxy snowboards. I still love their outerwear though and I got some awesome new pants coming my way, I'm so stoked!! I already have a really sweet jacket, it's pictured below. :D

Cobie captures me at my finest
I snapped a portrait of him too. That look he gives me makes me meeeeelt. <3 td="">

Snapped this too. They're too damn precious.

I like this shot too... my loves and Stabbin' Cabin in the background

Today is sunny and gorgeous, and we are supposed to have a snow storm tomorrow night. Dang! 5" to 8" expected! I'm off all fucking week, I'm pumped. Gonna do some yoga and snowboarding and shit. I've gotten really good at headstands, I love going inverted!
