Dwindling Summer Days

Welp, I changed my blog website address.  If you're reading this, congratulations- you're one of the lucky few who can read this.  I will eventually make it public again.  I'm trying to get back into writing again because I really do enjoy it and it's soothing for me to write.

It's already almost been a year since I left my ex and it has been such a whirlwind.  Life can be funny sometimes.  Looking back, leaving him was definitely the best decision I made and I don't regret it.  My only regret, however, is that I did not leave sooner.
Long story short, he took my car and took all of my money, and made threats against me when I wanted my shit back, so I decided to cut my losses and get a restraining order against him.  I had his number blocked on my phone and he is not allowed to contact me or come near me.

It was kind of sudden to me; when I left, all I had were my snowboard gear, clothes, and $100 (after paying rent).  I moved in with my great friends, Sasha and Dillon, who helped me adjust to a new life.  I turned to my comfort, my solace... snowboarding.  Snowboarding really brought me great joy in a time of uncertainty.  At the time, I felt like I was walking through a fog, wandering into an abyss.  It didn't take long for the fog to burn up and reveal a beautiful life ahead of me.

I had the best winter that I had in a long time.  I honestly cannot remember a more fun winter than the 2012-2013 season.  I met so many people, but I will never, ever forget the two people who, under funny circumstances, somehow crossed my path and became my inseparable friends.  I also improved so much snowboarding because now I loved it without my ex trying to drag me down.  I truly do feel freer now.  Here's some snapshots from the winter:

Speaking of freedom, I also got a truck.  It's awesome, I love it.  I worked (something I never saw my ex do) and saved up and bought it (also something I never saw my ex do, his mother always bought his vehicles.... he's in his 30s).  It's such a bitching truck, I can't wait to mob it in the snow. I am also really excited about this because in a way, it's like a huge "fuck you" to him.  Like, "Oh, you won't give me a car/truck of equal value or my money back?  Ok, fuck you, I'll get it myself." and I did.  I guess he was hoping that in a way, I would still need him.  Looks like that restraining order made him realize that wasn't gonna happen.

I am currently working on going back to school.  I want to become a park ranger in the state of Colorado.  I think it is a great goal and I feel motivated to do whatever means necessary to pursue that career.... while snowboarding a lot at the same time!  I would absolutely love to have a great, stable job like that in order to stay in such a beautiful place.
